Individual Therapy

UCS offers brief individual therapy services. Students enrolled in brief individual therapy will be paired with a counselor for one-on-one sessions that generally meet for 50 minutes. You and your counselor will work together to identify goals for treatment. Individual therapy offers the following benefits:

  • provides an opportunity to resolve personal and interpersonal issues
  • offers a safe, caring, confidential place to explore issues and receive feedback
  • helps you better understand underlying causes of symptoms you may be experiencing
  • helps with resolving feelings from the past
  • helps you develop new insights about your life and relationships
  • helps you to develop more effective coping strategies
